Alex is the main protagonist from the episode "Sick."

Alex is a young boy who recently caught a bad fever.

Despite his mom leaving him a note telling him to stay in bed while she goes out to buy some medicine, Alex decides to goof around and eat sugary treats, assuring himself that he's not that sick. Soon, he starts to see and hear strange things. Alex tries to go outside to get some fresh air, still sure that he's not really sick enough to be in bed all day, but he finds the door blocked with a huge sheet of plastic.

He tries to escape but the people outside in protective white biohazard suits (and masks) have wrapped the whole house in plastic! Their voices are muffled through the plastic, but Alex overhears one of them talking about a quarantine. All of a sudden a giant slimy octopus-like creature almost attacks Alex. He tries to lock himself in his room, but suddenly the TV turns on all by itself and tells him that the government has put his house under quarantine, not because of Alex, but because of the strange alien creature that's invading his home- and that Alex needs to kill the monster before it grows bigger... Alex decides to kill the alien in order to save himself and his mother. He arms himself with some kitchen utensils to fight off the alien, but just as he begins his attack, the government members unleash their own weapons and begin pumping poisonous gas inside the house, knocking out both Alex and the monster.

Alex is soon awakened by his mother and tells her everything that happened, but Mom tells him that he was only having a fever dream. Alex is relieved until the TV turns back on again, telling him that what he saw was real and it is his mom that is the hallucination. Alex is in shock and doesn't know what to believe as the newscasters yell desperately at him and hazard sirens begin to sound.
